Breeches finish mid calf and are designed to be worn with long riding boots only. Shortening the length of the leg gives more freedom of movement at the ankle. Seat patches on breeches for added security and leg control are a favourite for dressage riders giving them perfect suitability from the design, where as breeches with padding and grip at the knee would be more suitable for show jumpers. Breeches are more commonly seen in neutral colours.
Both breeches and jodhpurs are made from breathable, slightly flexible material allowing the rider freedom of movement whilst not overheating.
Why wear jodhpurs?
Jodhpurs are designed with comfort, suitability and safety in mind. Their well positioned seams mean that they do not rub the rider’s legs when worn in the saddle and their knee padding and designed seat allow for better grip, comfort and protection when riding.
